- Turning off or Deactivate and deleting your Facebook account
You will not be able to get to Meta Quest Products or your Meta Quest details through your Facebook account.
If you choose to delete your Facebook account:
Once you delete something, you can’t get back to it.
A few days after someone asks for deleting, we put it off. If you log back into your Facebook account during this time, the request to delete the post will be canceled.
Your account doesn’t keep all of your information, like your message logs. So, even after you delete your account, your friends might still be able to see the texts you sent them.
Some things, like log records, may stay in our database as copies, but they are not linked to any personal information.
If you log in to Meta Quest with your Facebook account, you will lose all of your Meta Quest data if you delete your Facebook account. This includes the things you’ve bought and the awards you’ve earned. You will no longer be able to return apps, and any store points you have left will be lost.
We are currently making changes to our Facebook settings.
How To Start:
- Changes you make to Facebook might not look the same to everyone.
- Turn off your Facebook account.
- In the upper right corner of Facebook, click on your picture.
- Go to Settings and Privacy and then click on Settings.
- You can close your account through Accounts Center if it’s in the upper left corner of your Settings menu. You can close your Facebook account through the settings if the Accounts Center is in the bottom left corner of your Settings menu.
- Use the Accounts Center to close your Facebook account.
- In the upper right corner of Facebook, click on your picture.
- Go to Settings and Privacy and then click on Settings.
- In the upper left corner of your screen, click Accounts Center.
- Under Account settings, click on Personal information.
- Click on Who owns and controls your account.
- Click “Deactivation” or “Delete.”
- Pick out the name or account that you want to delete.
- Click on “Deactivate account.”
- To confirm, click Continue and then do what it says.

- Click on Your Facebook info in the list on the left. In the new Pages experience, if you can connect to a Page on Facebook: Go to Privacy and then click on Your Facebook details.
- To deactivate and delete, click on it.
- Pick Deactivate Account, then click Continue to Account Deactivation and do what it says to make sure.
When you delete your account:
- A picture of you can only be seen by you.
- You might still be able to see some details, like the messages you sent to friends.
- Your friends may still be able to see your name on their list of friends. This can only be seen by your friends and people on their friends list.
- The people in charge of the group might still be able to see your name, posts, and comments.
- You will not be able to use your Facebook account to get to Oculus goods or information about Oculus.
- Also, pages that you alone control will be turned off. When you turn off your Page, no one can see it or find it when they look for it. You can give someone else full control of your Page if you don’t want it to be turned off. After that, you’ll be able to delete your account without deleting the Page.
- Think about the fact that Messenger will still be active if you choose to or if you are logged in to it when you log out of Facebook. Find out how to turn off Messenger.
- When you no longer have a Facebook account but still have Messenger:
- You can still use Messenger to talk to your friends.
- When you talk on Messenger, your Facebook personal picture will still be shown.
- People can look for you and send you a message.
- Getting your account going again
- It’s possible to reactivate your Facebook account at any time by logging in to Facebook or using your Facebook account to log in somewhere else. This is the case even if you deleted your account. Remember that you’ll need to be able to access the email address or phone number you use to log in in order to finish the restart.
- If you are the only person who can fully control an inactive Page, you can turn it back on after you log in to Facebook again.

- Everything you’ve put to your profile, like photos, posts, videos, and more, will be taken away for good. Anything you added will not be able to be taken back.
- Facebook Messenger will no longer work for you.
- Other apps that you may have signed up for with your Facebook account, like Spotify or Pinterest, will not let you use Facebook Login. To get back into those accounts, you might need to contact the apps and websites.
- People who used to be able to see your account may still be able to see some things, like the texts you sent to friends. Your friends’ inboxes hold copies of the messages you’ve sent them.

- Can I undo the closure of my account?
- For as long as it has been less than 30 days since you deleted your account, you can undo it. Your account and all of your information will be wiped for good after 30 days, and you won’t be able to get them back.
- It could take up to 90 days from the start of the deleting process to get rid of everything you set up. This information is not available to other Facebook users while we delete it.
- After 90 days, copies of your data may still be stored in backup storage that we use to get your data back in case of a disaster, software mistake, or other data loss event. We may also keep your information in case of legal problems, terms violations, or efforts to keep you safe. Find out more about how we handle privacy.
- To stop the destruction of your account:
- After deleting your Facebook account, you have 30 days to log back in.

- To get rid of the Facebook app on your Android phone or tablet, go to the settings menu and select “Apps.”
- Pick up Facebook.
- Click on Remove.
- Download the Facebook app for Android again from the Google Play Store to put it back on your phone.

- To get rid of the Facebook Lite app on your Android phone or tablet, go to the settings menu and select “Apps.”
- Press Lite.
- Click on Remove.
- You can get the Facebook Lite for Android app from the Google Play Store and then update it.
- Apple iPhone
- If you want to get rid of the Facebook app on your iPhone:
- Hold down the app button.
- Press the “Remove” button.
- Press “Delete App.”
- Get the Facebook app from the iTunes App Store to put it back on your iPhone.
- iPad
- Hold down the app button to remove the Facebook app from your iPad.
- Press “Delete App.”
- Press the Delete key.
- Get the Facebook app from the iTunes App Store to put it back on your iPad.
